ABOUT THIS IRON
Rowenta is a premium German brand (this iron is also made in Germany as proudly displayed on the side) and this iron certainly has a range of premium features.

The precision stainless steel soleplate has a unique tip shape to get into tricky areas, and there are 400 micro holes that evenly distribute the steam as you iron.
The iron is not just green in colour - its Smart Eco Mode can deliver 100% of the performance with up to a 30% saving in energy.
The maximum output of 2600 watts of power means shorter heat-up times and the water tank is above average too so both these features will genuinely shave time off your ironing chores. The 2.5 metre power cord is of a decent length.
The green and white case is attractive, although it is a little difficult to see how much water is left in the tank. The iron weighs in at a rather bulky 1.7kg and that's without any water. It is also quite a big iron and some of the buttons could be smaller and better placed for long ironing sessions.

Power2600 watts
A higher wattage allows the iron to heat up quicker and maintain that heat during your ironing session
Steam45 g/min
Continuous steam output in grams per minute. Higher output = quicker ironing
Shot200g/min
A short, powerful burst of steam to penetrate deep into creased or thick fabric
Weight1.7 kg
Weight of the hand iron without water. Heavier irons can be more stressful on your wrist over long ironing sessions, but generally have better crease-crushing performance
SoleplateStainless Steel
A ceramic soleplate will give the smoothest gliding and best scratch resistance. More expensive models might also have a special coating for even better performance
Water Tank350 ml
Higher water capacities will mean faster ironing with less time to stop and fill up, but can also increase the weight of hand irons
Cord Length2.5 metres
A longer power cord gives greater flexibility, particularly when ironing large items. (For steam generators this figure is the steam cord length from the hand iron to base unit)
Auto-OffNO
A safety feature that turns the iron off after a period of inactivity
Auto ControlsNO
Instead of the usual heat and steam selector dials, the iron will control steam and heat automatically based on fabric type. Some irons even have both traditional manual controls and an automatic mode so you get the best of both worlds
Warranty Period2 years
Standard warranty period from time of purchase (includes any extension manufacturers may give for registering with them)
