Super powerful steam generator that is strong but silent with noise reduction technology. Ideal for: Power Users
ABOUT THIS IRON
German designed and built in France, this premium steam generator has plenty of power and a raft of features to make ironing as effortless as possible, from noise reduction technology to clever limescale removal.
Strong but SilentSteam generators are very powerful but are not normally known for being very quiet. This one is different - special sound dampening technology keeps the noise down even when pumping out steam at up to 160g/min. Rowenta claim it is up to 15 decibels quieter than a normal steam generator.
Huge PowerAs well as class-leading 8 bar steam pressure, there's an enormous 600g/minute burst shot which will make short work of even the toughest creases. Luckily, a 1.3 litre water tank means less trips to the tap to refill.
Eco FriendlyIf you don't need all that steam and heat, the eco-mode will save up to 30% on energy and still produce impressive results on everyday fabrics.
Limit LimescaleAs Rowenta is now owned by Tefal, this steam generator benefits from a great calc collector system that is one of the most advanced on the market. All the nasty limescale is collected in one place - simply remove and rinse out periodically to keep the iron in perfect condition.

A higher wattage allows the iron to heat up quicker and maintain that heat during your ironing session
Continuous steam output in grams per minute. Higher output = quicker ironing
A short, powerful burst of steam to penetrate deep into creased or thick fabric
Weight of the hand iron without water. Heavier irons can be more stressful on your wrist over long ironing sessions, but generally have better crease-crushing performance
A ceramic soleplate will give the smoothest gliding and best scratch resistance. More expensive models might also have a special coating for even better performance
Higher water capacities will mean faster ironing with less time to stop and fill up, but can also increase the weight of hand irons
A longer power cord gives greater flexibility, particularly when ironing large items. (For steam generators this figure is the steam cord length from the hand iron to base unit)
A safety feature that turns the iron off after a period of inactivity
Instead of the usual heat and steam selector dials, the iron will control steam and heat automatically based on fabric type. Some irons even have both traditional manual controls and an automatic mode so you get the best of both worlds
Standard warranty period from time of purchase (includes any extension manufacturers may give for registering with them)
